I bought this product to secure my laptop to the table in my bedroom where I keep it. I couldn't use screws due to the material of the table so I just used glue. It's good and strong. Yes, I could probably take it off if I really wanted to, but if someone took the time and energy to remove the anchor I would definitely notice. The idea is to prevent someone from just walking away with my laptop when I turn around (or I'm in the bathroom). I'm not stupid enough to think the lock will be able to stop a determined thief, who managed to work with him. This is just for me I bought another one for my table which is much stronger. I also keep my bedroom door locked when I'm away (I have a deadbolt on it). There's nothing else worth the money for the little extra protection it offers and I'm happy with that.
