I've always loved bento boxes. I'm drawn to Chinese and Japanese culture and all those great bento lunches you see on Instagram and Pinterest. Over the years I've bought quite a few bentos from different brands that either a.) didn't have enough food in them to last and fill you up. b.) Leaking and getting sticky or not holding food well. c.) You have a really weird plastic smell that just won't go away no matter how hard or how often you clean it, and your food will taste weird or unappetizing. However, this bento exceeded all expectations. Love the three tiers of the bento box, especially the bottom tier, and the fact that it has its own resealable lid! I used the bottom layer of my bento today to get fruit and fruit sauce to work using one of the lovely little silicone baking cups they provided me with and I haven't had a single concern. Despite the juicy pineapple and berries inside, the bento didn't get sticky on the outside. Everything was locked, neat and clean. As for the soup bowl, I was a bit apprehensive at first because it looks pretty small, but looks can be deceiving! Because the soup bowl contained everything but four or five slices of a 15-ounce can of Dinty More Beef Stew. I also liked the tote bag! It's big enough for a bento box, my soup mug, and even a few extra snacks if you need them, or your drink! There were tiny animal shaped toothpicks that were not listed in the description of this product but they are high quality and absolutely adorable! They were just the icing on the cake as the rest of the utensils, spoon and fork, were phenomenal too. The first thing that struck me was that the fork and spoon were of good quality and felt nice. I also liked that the fork had little prongs on the sides, like a knife, so you can cut your food! And as if that wasn't cool enough, I noticed the little handles on the bottom that let you use your utensils as chopsticks as well. Comfortable, multifunctional and shapely. I will definitely buy from this brand again!
