Still excited after 10 months!

This morning I ate breakfast in the bathroom while watching the babies having emergency baths. While this little machine was cleaning the living room! I don't even have to think about getting a bucket and brush to remove dirt from carpet or furniture. Just fill up the tank, put it in and get to work. Ooooooooooo worth it! Originally bought because our elderly cat started having accidents around the house. Unfortunately it went away in January but now I use it whenever my little one makes a mess! Today was one of those days. So this machine has a rotating cleaning disc on the bottom (see photo). You install this disk on top of the mess and choose the setting you want (quick or deep cleaning). There's also a finger-triggered suction hose nozzle (see photo) that sprays and then sucks up the cleaning fluid from the reservoir. It also has cleaning bristles on the bottom so you can hand-clean it while vacuuming if the mess needs extra attention. The reviews I read before buying mentioned hose issues or leaking issues. Here's how I avoided these problems: 1) Store it with the hose attached but NOT wrapped around the body of the machine. (See photo) 2) Do not store in tanks together with water or chemicals. Use or discard any remaining liquids and open the dirty water tank's small lid (after rinsing it well) to allow it to dry. If you leave dirty water there, it will be very difficult to wash it off. So just keep it clean and dry and you'll be fine! 3) Make sure you use the right cleaning chemical! Some detergents are made for big vertical machines, NOT these little guys. Read the label to be sure! And don't use dish soap. Simply not. I didn't have such problems. I once tried a small amount of dish soap when my toddler found a can of a tar-like substance my husband had left under the car. Never again! Such a bubble mush! This little machine got the tar dirt out of the carpet, but it took forever to remove the soapy dirt! Small room. Cons: *Only one 7" carpet circle at a time (think of the crop circles 😉👍) *To really get liquid you need to use a hose and hand tool after the scrub cycle is complete. * Proprietary cleaning chemicals must be used and are not cheap. * Loud, but no louder than any other wet/dry vacuum. * The hose is not removable for cleaning. Despite the cons, I'm still 100% satisfied (5 stars) with the performance of this little home use machine. I don't even have to wear gloves when I have to clean up the mess! The only thing that I think could be improved would be if Bissell made the hose removable/replaceable. It gets dirty in the hose, especially when there's pet hair around and there's no way to get in there to clean it. Maintenance free/replaceable parts make it 4 stars for me. I would happily buy a new hose if it were possible! Recommended for domestic use, with children and/or 1-2 pets involved in an accident. It only cleans a small circle of carpets at a time. So if you need to clean large areas or rooms frequently, or have a lot of pets, you are better off using a larger vertical shampoo, renting a commercial machine, or hiring a company. .
