Simply the best. You will not be disappointed!

WOW! I have a D800e and had a D610 at the time. I sold the D610 to lower the cost of the D4S and I'm sooooo happy about it. The D800e is an amazing camera that holds its own, but feels like a toy compared to the D4S. First, the fact that the D800e only shoots really well up to ISO 6400 seems 'limiting' now that the D4S comfortably shoots up to ISO 16000. I kinda miss the megapixels going down from 36 to 16 (for cropping), but the much higher photo quality with the D4S erases that. It also forces me to improve my in-camera composition a bit. In landscape mode, the grip and feel of the D4S is amazing. Fleshy and pleasant to the touch. In portrait mode, the grip for me is not as good as on the D800e with Nikon grip (MB-D12). I have neither big nor small hands. Medium sized hands only. The MB-D12 looks edgier and feels good in the hand. The portrait grip on the D4S feels a bit flimsy to me. I don't feel like it will fall out of my hands, but that thinner grip doesn't easily fit my hands like the MB-D12. As a result, I have to spend a second looking for the trigger. It's not a problem, but I know they've redesigned the ergonomics and that's one area I think is different. 11 frames per second is freaking AMAZING! I'm a prosumer so I shoot formal weddings, portraits, some sports, pets etc. but even for the "normal" user 11fps is great. We have a Great Dane and the burst mode comes in very handy when we play with her. It goes and goes and goes. Group autofocus is great too. I always use single point focus on my D800e, but on the D4S I use group autofocus. Still in the middle but with a slightly larger AF area it's really nice. Great feature. My parents just turned 50 and they cut the cake like at a wedding. I had an SB-910 flash and an SD-9 battery when shooting in continuous high mode. I was able to shoot quickly and capture the entire sequence, which was around 12 seconds long. Everything was shot in 14-bit RAW and the camera didn't shake at all. Group AF got everything sharp! In closing, instead of repeating all the reviews on the web, I will just list a few other articles that I find useful. Backlight: an important feature for me! It's a cool teal, but I was shooting a time lapse at night with a D4S and the backlighting was great. Small display on the back: Before I had the D4S, I didn't think it was useful. This is useful. All your information is right here. Battery door: Has a button that opens the door, as opposed to the D800e's manual sliding door. It feels better and higher quality. Memory Cards: D4S uses XQD and CF cards. Does it suck that XQD costs so much more? Of course. But it's a professional camera and it's FAST. In the end it's worth it. I usually shoot with the camera writing data to both cards and when importing photos into Lightroom I always use the XQD card as a reference. No built-in flash: I have two SB-910s and one SB-700. On my D800e I usually use a pop-up flash to fire flashes wirelessly, so it's a bit of a shame that the D4S doesn't have a built-in flash for simplicity. However. I'm lucky that I have 3 torches, so I can "spend" one to fire the other 2 torches. I have PocketWizards (MiniTT and FlexTT5 models) but they are currently not compatible with D4S (although a new beta version of the PocketWizard software is being prepared). Built-in viewfinder hatch: This is a really neat feature. Built-in flap to cover viewfinder light. It can also protect the viewfinder window and protect it from dust. All in all this is a great camera and unfortunately my D800e hasn't been used much since I bought the D4S. When you need a second body, the D4s is a joy to use and a lot of fun to photograph. This is a camera that has everything in the world so I feel like I can do whatever I want with it without being limited. If you have any doubts about choosing D4S, don't hesitate. Just get it because you won't be disappointed. And Revain offers a 30-day return policy! Try it! last thought There are many opinions that D4S is not worth upgrading. If you have D4, it's probably not worth upgrading to D4S. As well as the just announced new D810. My D800e and D810 are absolutely not worth the upgrade. If you're not at a pro level right now, the D4S would be a great buy!
