UPDATE 7/31/2020 Printer has been a disaster since Feb 2020! I don't do what I have to do. seal ! Spent too many hours on the phone with HP Tech Support, totaling over 7 hours of nonsense. They hijacked my computer over the internet and tried to get the printer to work. It's July 31st and I finally got a replacement printer yesterday after having to use my credit card to guarantee a crappy printer return! Tech support said there was a replacement guide in the box. NO ! No instructions other than going to the HP link. HP's link was a general link that said NOTHING about the printhead replacement, which involves removing the printhead from my crappy printer and putting it in a replacement printer. After googling I found the procedure and followed it. The support times are limited! Thanks HP! I was able to move the print head with cartridges to a replacement printer. I turned on the backup printer and I got a message on the screen that all the ink cartridges in the printer can be used in the backup printer! Because they were used in another printer. SHOULD I SELECT ALL MY CARTRIDGES FOR PRINTING NOW? Will HP extend my warranty by four months because a crappy printer doesn't work? Will HP replace the cartridges I have to throw away with ours? WHAT DO YOU THINK?-------------------------------- ---------- ---- ------------------ ------------- --------- ---------- ----------- -------------------- ------ Original message: Details below: 1) Printer ink included for 2 years : Scam - you need to register and have the printer online so it can call home and report an out of ink, only then will you get an out of ink. So you only get the ink you need for a maximum of one month! 2) Don't be surprised if the printer pauses several times in the middle of a large print job. The printer screen shows that it is waiting for the paper to dry. BUT? 3) Auto Power Off: The printer will turn off after the selected time, with a maximum run time of 8 hours. So my printer is in a remote room and I have to press the power button when I want to use the printer. 4) The WiFi connection kept dropping and the printer erased the WiFi password so I had to re-enter it the same day. 5) Tech Support: hours three days, three different agents tried to get the printer to not drop wifi and not turn off. Tech support couldn't handle it. There doesn't seem to be a solution. I even asked tech support to take over my computer and printer to come in and adjust the settings. But don't go anyway. The printer has the latest firmware! 6) The printer keeps showing the blue screen of death (the printer screen is blue with a power button icon indicating you need to press the power button to restart). I have to go and press the power button to reset it. So, this morning the printer is off again. When it turns off automatically, the screen will turn blue and display the power button icon with a number code. Tech support doesn't know what this code means. But I have to press the power button to use the printer. My arm isn't long enough to reach from the computer to the printer in the back hallway! The print quality is good, and I've done a lot of double-sided color printing (automatically scan on both sides and then double-sided) all of which went well. BUT A PAIN TO USE! You gotta keep dropping it! So I gave up and used a black and white printer.
