We bought them for school bus patrol (pupils). They are big for kids (9 and 10 years old) but that's good because they have to wear a vest over backpacks and coats. We stuck the bus numbers on the back with thermal transfer stickers, but they peeled off. I think the employee who did the numbers didn't want to use a temperature that was too high. When ordering a new set for next year, we might take another reviewer's advice that around 250 is a good setting. They lasted all year (September to February) so they seem sturdy enough for kids to use once a day. Not sure if they will stand up to adult use in harsh environments as they are quite light.
