After reading many reviews about bedposts we decided to buy them because plastic posts (even heavy ones) sometimes fail and break. They are being used on the queen bed of a wonderful 80 year old woman so risk of injury is NOT an option for her. I love that they have the option to purchase 6 risers as that is the number of legs on this bed frame. Many companies only sell them in sets of 4, so you have to buy two sets and have 2 "extra". Our bed frame has wheels and these risers are designed to work with wheels. So many reviews mentioning destruction seem to have been caused by users removing the wheels. This results in the sharp edge preventing proper weight distribution. Leave wheels on if your bed frame has them. These risers contain a rubber-like U-cup that is used to stabilize the wheels. Inside the metal post is a cross structure that runs the full length of the metal post. Even if the stabilizing shell fails, the weight of the bed will still be supported by the design of these risers. Also, they are flared at the bottom and have a rubberized bottom that prevents scratching or damaging your floor. Assembly was easy, simple and quick. We firmly believe that they will work forever and will never let you down. They cost a little more than other climbers on the market, but knowing my mom is safe in her bed is priceless. This is a quality product that serves two purposes for us, it provides additional storage space by utilizing dead space and it provides additional bed height to allow my mother to get out of bed unassisted and pain free. We can highly recommend these bed risers. Just don't try to change the bed frame. They can be used with wheels/casters but will work just as well with a standard bed frame. We have 5 1/2 inch risers which are perfect for our needs. This company does not encourage a good review, this is our honest assessment of this product.
