Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Beginner's Rubber Carving Kit for Block Making by Kristen Simpson

Great Rubber Blocks

Most of the rubber blocks in this set (both large and 4 of the 6 smaller ones) are two-tone blocks that look almost like ice cream sandwiches from the outside. They are great for beginners as a second color will show through as you carve to help you know you've gone deep enough. In fact, no carving tools are included in the kit. I'm still a beginner but I don't understand how easy it is to cut with an Xacto knife? I MUCH prefer linoleum or wood carving tools. I have less chance of cutting myself and they are easy enough for my kids (even my 7 year old) to use. I wish he had linoleum tools instead of Xacto knives. Although the included knife and razor are of decent quality (the razor is designed for crafts, it's not as heavy as an office knife). Ink is a mess. Three different brands are included, as if the seller had just added a range of items from different collections that they purchased. Some have good ink, some have lower opacity. But they are all good enough for children. In general, rubber blocks sell this set! Great quality and variety!
