Review on ๐ŸฆŒ Cabela's Pro Hunts: Big Game Hunter - Wii U by Stephen Cooper

Great game but with flaws

Decided to try this game. It was great value for money and will give you hours of gaming fun. If you're looking for a quick game, this isn't it. You hunt in 4 regions with unique animals and terrain. Each of the regions is fairly large, although not overly large. Each region gives you the opportunity to conduct specific hunts where you target specific animals, sizes, types of weapons, etc. You can also hunt for free if you have time, just shoot what you want. Both earn your money and experience to unlock other areas. At the end you will unlock two professional hunts in each region. These are shorter missions to test what you have learned in this region. After winning both Regional Pro Hunts, you unlock the next region. There will be many repetitions. Completing missions is necessary to earn money and unlock better gear. However, you can complete the game (all Pro Hunts) without completing all missions. Everybody can do what he wants to do. Overall, the presentation was excellent, if not up to date. Each region is quite large and the game has a lot of depth. I put stars for 2 problems I encountered. The most common lag was when using binoculars and optical sights. The game would just freeze and you wouldn't be able to move your weapon fast enough to keep up with the slow moving animal. A few times the game froze completely and required a hard reset of the WiiU. It may have hung more, but I was saving often when I started noticing lag. I'm not sure if this is a WiiU or game issue. After around 1.5 hours of play, the system should no longer stutter. The lag was annoying, but it was workable, and I was usually able to finish (and save) the hunt before losing all progress. All in all a great game with hours of entertainment.
