I use them for cables of various types and lengths (thick power cables, instrument cables, small diameter DC cables). They are quicker and easier to use with gloves than Velcro. They're well made, the clips and elastic cord are good quality, and a big improvement over these disadvantages of Velcro: sticking to some work gloves, picking up lint or fibers on the "hook" side, which ultimately reduces the holding power of Velcro . Mistake. You then have to do a tedious lint cleaning to regain some holding power. I replaced all my velcro straps with these Powrig cords. The only minor downside to POwrig cords is that they don't stick to the cable when you open them. But the bright red color really helps to find and track them. To do this, I attach a small carabiner to the grip of my cable bag and simply stow the POOWRIG cords there while the cables are in use.
