Vehicle comes fully assembled which is good as instructions are minimal. This is the third machine I'm reviewing and the only one that comes with only written (not drawn) instructions. You and your child can figure out how to assemble it by carefully taking it apart. All screws are the same size. This is an intelligent toy. My daughter had this train. She must have set it up and taken it down 100 times. This machine comes with a plastic screwdriver. Unlike the other two cars I tested, there is no manual screwdriver here. However, you can use a screwdriver by hand. SUMMARY: If your child enjoys playing with tools, chances are they will build this machine many, many times.
