At first I wanted to install it with screws. Depending on your environment, simply using glue can be problematic if the heat/humidity is not favorable in your situation. The unit came with the adhesive already applied to the mount (you get an extra one), so I didn't want to go through the process of removing the adhesive there already. To actually install it I had to remove the backing, but that was so difficult that it removed some of the sticky material from the mount. Whether this affects the strength of the attachment remains to be seen. Long story short I would prefer if they didn't pre-apply the glue to the mount but just let you decide what you want to do. If you use adhesive screws, the existing screws will be too short to leave many in the mounting surface and breakage may occur.
