I bought 100 of these 925 sterling silver earwires hoping they are real sterling silver. All packaging failed the first and most important quality test, they all have a magnetic attraction (meaning they contain iron). Precious metal alloys should NEVER be iron/steel. I have not yet chemically tested the product, so it is technically possible that the product is 92.5% silver mixed with 7.5% iron/steel. Even if this is the case, I would still strongly advise against using this product. The metal in this product would be immediately rejected by any silver/gold deal. This is just another example of fraudulent metal stamping (not necessarily intentional on the part of the retailer/supplier, but the manufacturer is definitely responsible and aware). a steel spring internal component that greatly improves the long-term functionality of the fastener.
