My son wore New Balance Wide and NIKE Wide shoes and they all left red stains on his feet. Croc sandals were the only shoes he was comfortable wearing, so we decided to give them a try. He also doesn't get any red spots and can wear them all day without any problems. The shoes have an outline made of reflective material that stands out both during the day and at night when the light shines on them. They keep his feet a little cleaner than croc sandals when he runs on the lawn and playground. They also have a good grip. The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is because the reflective material that outlines the back of the ankle is is slightly removed from the inside of the shoe. That way, the reflective lining is the first part that rubs my son's ankle in the back. We noticed some irritation when he wore these shoes barefoot and the problem went away once he started wearing socks with these boots.
