Good - very little smell, the foam swells well, the foam rubber is soft and the pieces are small, so it was easier to stuff the pillows and there were no lumps. The foam is sewn into a non-woven sleeve, which is welded into a plastic bag and then wrapped in shrink film. Very well packed. Arrived pretty quickly. Bad - most of the soft foam sticks to the hard foam layer. It's crushed, so the pieces are small, but you can feel the hard layer showing through. The hard layer is easy to remove, just peel off, but it takes a long time. If your item is thick, the stiff material may not be noticeable, but the pieces of foam attached to the stiff material don't take shape very well. The little pieces are sometimes so small that they statically float around like styrofoam balls. I gave up stuffing her pillow and will try to get it back. If your soft item comes off in the wash, this item is going to make a big mess. If you are making pillows I would suggest making a non-woven pillow shape out of it and then covering it with a decorative pillow. The company didn't lie about anything, they just didn't tell everything.
