Review on TheBalm BalmShelter Silky-Smooth Tinted Moisturizer: The Ultimate Skin Saver by Jessica Sommers

My new product!

Most of the reviews on this product are actually pretty accurate. I've tried countless bb/cc/tinted moisturizers to find the perfect product for everyday use. I don't like an overly flawless look that doesn't make my skin feel like skin, I don't like the feel of heavy foundation, but I REALLY want my skin tone to be even, fade redness, conceal blemishes, etc. I'm combination/oily and prone to breakouts so LOTS of other products were too oily and got me busted and melted on my face. The only other product that has worked well for me is Garnier Miracle Perfecting BB BUT if you have fair skin like me then you know that even a "light/medium" shade is too light/dark to really go Act. I have to say I think I've found my near perfect product here, but as good as it gets. What I like: - light but buildable - pretty decent staying power, I still look pretty good at the end of an 8 hour run. Tag - don't throw me off course (yeah!) - Pretty big bottle - color options! note here. It definitely oxidizes a bit. When I originally ordered I was arguing between Light and Light/Medium. I have more yellow undertones, so I tend towards a medium-light shade that suits me better. Considering the oxidation factor, I left light and very happy. Turning on the light straight from the bottle is almost perfect for me, but I already look quite tanned during the day. Not orange or weird, just light brown. Since the rest of my body is NOT tanned at all, I decided to order a bottle of "light and light" and now mix them together for a great combination. The brightest light is SUPER pale pink peach. Probably only for those with the pink skin of a china doll. I have attached a photo of two colors for those who wish to refer. The light on the left is brighter than the light on the right. What I don't like: There is definitely a lot of sunscreen in it. If you have sensitive eyes, this product stings. I keep it off my eyes and only use concealer in that area, but this doesn't work if you're sensitive and want to use it around your eye area. The application can be a bit tricky. I have found that the beauty blender picks up and wastes too much product. I tried the foundation brush (don't know how to use it to be honest) and couldn't get rid of the streaks. Now I apply it with my fingers and it works. I apply a base coat and let it dry a bit before smoothing it out. Otherwise I feel like I'm smearing the product all over my face endlessly. It dries for a long time. I can't wait so I apply setting powder to finish the rest of my makeup. Overall I really like the product and I think I will continue to buy it! I actually think it's a pretty good value. So happy I found him!
