If you are not going to be using the light in the foreseeable future, you should turn off the light yourself with the LIGHT BUTTON. Remote control "OFF" drains the batteries. It seems they are off, but they are being discharged. I use 5 out of 6 lamps. one that I turned off with the light button before saving it). This seems to be at odds with the convenience of using the remote control. NOTE: The light must be turned on with the light button for the remote control to work. Aside from being impractical and wasting a lot of batteries, I really like them in my souvenir closet.
