Review on Enhanced Performance with Progressive Automations Linear Actuator Stroke Power Transmission and Linear Motion Products by Kevin Apriando

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice looking drivetrain, but the slotted ends of the joint need a redesign.

Both ends of the slotted joint are round in cross-section making bolting difficult unless a machined gasket is used which conforms to the curve of the ends on one side and is flat on the other side. At the articulated end of the piston there are liners made of plastic (polyethylene?), This is a joke, they do not withstand large dynamic loads. I pulled them out and used a grade 8 1/2-13 bolt with a .495" shank that fits very tightly into the holes in the end of the piston. There are .402" holes on the other end, I drilled them. to .405" so I can use some of the titanium aircraft screws I have on that end.
