Spear filter cover latch is pre-broken in my case at least. The filter lid door was not locked when I finally opened the box, and it appeared to have been forced shut due to a swollen filter at the factory. Upon closer inspection, the "notches" at the tip of the spear had broken off where they could not catch on the latch (latch) on the fan housing. The lid closes with tape; noticed the problem too late and can't get it back now.
