I bought this turtleneck sweater for my 12 year old daughter who is very small, about 54 inches and about 65 pounds. She still wears a plus size for girls. So I chose size 12 (XL) to give her some room to grow. I was surprised to see that I could easily wear it myself and I wear women's (M). Needless to say it looked like a dress on my daughter I will be returning and ordering a different size or maybe two sizes smaller as it is well made and the material feels very good and is great for layering. Update: my daughter loved the color and how comfortable it is so we kept it and she just ties it up and wears it like a tunic top. .
