A few years ago, tired of the boldness of home and salon hair dye, I came across Wella Color Charm Gel at my local Sally Beauty store. The label promoted gray coverage, more glitter and less brass. I have to stay, I've been impressed since I first used it. In my experience it does all of those things, with the exception of Ash, which doesn't keep its color around my temples. I found a little trick for this: Choose a shade or two darker (natural vs. ash), mix a small amount of developer and color in a ratio of 2:1 and apply it to the roots in the temple area. Works like "Charm!" Now I'm left free of white/grey around temples until next time need touching up. I love the natural look the color gives me and after the first few days my hair has nice highlights that stay weeks later. I've also found that I prefer the 10 vs 20 developer (either Wella or Sally branded) because it gives me a more subtle color.
