Review of Criminal Evidence

Gardner and Anderson's Principles and Cases of Criminal Evidence was a required text in my master's program. I'm doing my Masters of Science in Fraud and Forensics at Carlow University. Not being a criminologist or law enforcement specialist, I was unaware of the laws regarding the rules of witness testimony, what constitutes a lawful search, trial, etc. Gardner and Anderson are great at breaking the legal jargon to give the student a simple but clear understanding. After reading this book, I can confidently say that I have a better understanding of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments to the US Constitution. As well as knowledge of litigation including, but not limited to, hearsay evidence, rules of evidence, lawful search and seizure, and expert rules. The case studies by Gardner and Anderson that support the information presented in this book are extensive. It is evident that they put a lot of time and effort into this book and I believe that thanks to their work I have become a better student. I would highly recommend this book to all readers. -Ron
