I use a gauge I bought at a truck stop over 25 years ago. I haven't used a dipstick on my van or jeep for the last few years as I had a small clockwork gauge. When I got back to OTR, I found that that old feeler gauge I had had eventually become inaccurate. After disassembling, I found that the inner rubber seal and O-ring were worn out. So I bought another sensor and when I got this one I found it to be much more durable in my hand and the numbers were larger than my old one. I have tested the accuracy with my dial indicator and other feelers at the store and it is absolutely accurate.
