This is a great book for young seamstresses! I saw an interview with author Sophie and her mother on Nancy Zieman's Nancy's Corner. She is a very spectacular young lady! I ordered two of these, one for my 8 year old niece and one for myself. This way we can both talk about sewing remotely. I can also use my copy as a reference for my after school sewing club. This book has good photos (lots of pictures) and excellent descriptions. Sophie will teach you how to use basic sewing tools and the basics of a sewing machine. There are many projects that young people like such as bags, clothes and accessories. It offers a real and valuable alternative to television. Except, learning some sewing skills will help a child throughout their life. I highly recommend this book for children learning to sew. And I hope that Sophie will inspire young people for a long time to come.
