Review on 🍱 Rubbermaid Meal Prep Premier Food Storage Container: 6-Piece Set in Grey - Ultimate Organization and Freshness by Yvonne Roybal

Warning: There are two lid designs and lids from one design will not match another design.

UpdateAfter purchasing these containers, I investigated their safety. Rubbermaid's Premier version containers are made from Tritan plastic. Tritan is a product of Eastman Chemicals. According to Eastman's website, Tritan is safe and has a number of regulatory approvals, including the US FDA. However, another private study claimed that tritan leached harmful chemicals. Eastman sued the organization and won the lawsuit. You can research this topic online and draw your own conclusions. The package uses 7 kinds of plastic resins. There is a plastic identification number on the container. For example, #5 means polypropylene. Type #1 through #6 indicates a specific plastic; where, for example, type #7 is generic and means something other than #1-6. Tritan containers are labeled plastic #7, meaning you can't tell what they're made of just by looking at the label. Rubbermaid's regular red top containers are made from #5 plastic, which is polypropylene. This plastic is commonly used in food packaging and is considered safe. Rubbermaid actively sells these containers (with red lids) through grocery chains. In contrast, Rubbermaid Premier (Tritan) cases are not as widely available. If I knew what I know now, I would buy the Rubbermaid red top containers. In any case, I plan to only use my containers for food storage to minimize chemical leaching. I would not use them for reheating or cooking. Please note that containers should be washed before first use. In the original review I purchased the Rubbermaid Premier Set which comes with 14 canisters. You are nice and good. I also bought two additional Premier 5 cup containers at a time. All have gray caps. However, the lids for the two additional containers have a different design than those used for the container set and do not stack with the same size lids from the container set. Revain's two product descriptions do not list the two types of closures used. You can't tell the difference from the pictures on Revain. Paper labels on individually purchased containers indicate "Easy Clean” lids. I want Rubbermaid to make two caps in different colors so the differences are obvious. In the list, give the two designs different product names, such as B. "Premier with Easy Clean Lid" and "Premier with Standard Lid".
