I had previously bought a different sun-protective hat, but I bought this one to match what I was wearing to my daughter-in-law's baby shower which was to be held outdoors. It not only shielded my face, neck, and ears from the sun, but it also offered great protection for my eyes. I find myself grabbing it when I walk to the mailbox or anytime I am going to be outdoors for very long. I highly recommend the hat. The other hat does not come down as far on the sides and does not protect my eyes as much. I have macular drusen, so eye protection is very important to me. I am also very fair-skinned. This hat is great!
