Mine wasn't as shiny as in the photo.
Mine was not shiny as shown. It was boring. I had a special shoe polish. Contains lanolin and gives the skin a radiant glow. So I took it outside and sprayed it on the visible side and everything was fine. My digital caliper said it was just under 1.5 inches wide.
