Marc Jacobs is a fantastic brand, especially when it comes to shoes. I have several pairs and am just blown away by how comfortable and wearable they are; They don't scratch easily, water (in reasonable amounts) doesn't seem to make them dramatic. I saw this pair and decided to give it a try. Children's shoes are often not changed; They seem to lack some of the qualities of their adult counterparts. They are the same quality leather as mine. The main difference is that the elastic inserts on the sides are slightly wider. This makes sense as it makes it easier for children to put them on and take them off. I had hoped, they would fit my daughter (my eldest) and then pass them on to her brother but they are too small for her. I'll have to hang them up for a while before my son can wear them. This is normal as this is a classic style that will always be appropriate. However, to be honest, I'm not sure I would pay that much for kids' shoes, knowing that he might only be able to wear them for a short time.
