One of the main problems in many of these reviews is the lack of a description of the application. I received and installed a 16" fan kit. them on my 1980 Ford Bronco with a 5.0 liter V8 engine. The fan covers about 70% of the heatsink and I am currently NOT using a fan shroud. Installed with a relay to turn on and off when the car is running, as well as a manual switch to turn off the fan to make the car warm up faster. Be sure to think about your application and measure your heatsink to get maximum coverage (especially if you're not using a shroud). A simple ratio of "fan width x fan height" gives you the area of the fan(s) and then "heatsink width x heatsink height" gives you the optimal coverage area. If my radiator was 12" x 24", I would have 2 x 10" fans. Once the car was warmed up, I turned on the fan and it held about 180 degrees. The amount of air it moves is really impressive. This is the ONLY fan in the car. I removed the factory clutch fan. The 16" fan is rated at 120W, so make sure you use connections rated at at least 10 amps. I also decided to use a fuse to add to keep the battery from shorting out if it burns out.My bronco is designed for off-road use so it's going to be a really harsh environment.I'll update this review if there are any issues but so far I'm very impressed .I'm also glad it came in a 2 pack so I can have a spare in case that rock hits the blade and breaks it.Have fun and install it right and I think this Lü fter will serve you well. It's a tedious task if you do it alone.
