So. This is your main blue lap desk. It is a hard plastic with a light texture. Slippery at the top. However, my laptop has small rubber feet that stick well to the table surface. Still a bit slippery. If you use it to handwrite your novel. or real letters. It's the perfect surface. It would be great if it was a non-stick surface for laptops/tablets. I was about to complain that the light shown was not on. However, there is a small zippered area at the bottom of the table. I opened it and wondered what the hell that was. Violet. The lamp was there. It's pretty dim when the lights go out. looks like an LED. Too bad the lightbulb was "on" when I pulled it out. The base holds the batteries. weird little round watch sized batteries and a loose spring that falls out when you open the battery compartment. The neck of the lamp, including the lamp head, appears to be approximately 12 inches. It fits tightly into the hole designed for it. The depth of the cup holder is approximately 1 1/2 inches. so you could technically put a glass in there. but it is very small. The pen holder actually holds a standard sized pen or pencil. By eye, the length of the pen/pencil slot is approximately 7 1/2 inches. The bottom of the beanbag is comfortable. Feels and sounds like it contains little mini styrofoam beads. I don't hesitate to update my reviews when new information is useful. more I receive NO compensation for my reviews.
