I bought this to store the non-waterproof components of my ROV. Once submerged, the ROV and its tether retain enough moisture that they cannot be sealed in an enclosure containing sensitive electronics. I didn't want to buy another Pelican case just for her. I paid $28 for this case. A comparable Pelican case costs about $160. The housing itself is made of durable polypropylene. It protects against punctures, just like the Pelican case. The inner foam of this case is much less stiff than the Pelican case. It's very soft. It fills the gap well but can collapse under heavier stored items. This softer aspect makes plucking and plucking a bit difficult. In the end I used the plucking lines as guides and just cut out the foam with a razor. The latches are adequate but far from excellent. There is a waterproof seal on the lid, but I haven't tested it for waterproofness yet. Overall I am happy with this case. It will serve to protect my components at a fraction of the cost of a Pelican case. I don't expect the foam to last. So take this into account in your planning. The larger body in my photo is pelican. It's 12 years old now and has been modified to hold my ROV. A smaller case is pending. Hopefully this gives you some insight or dimension. Much luck!
