I have used cheap batteries from other manufacturers, as soon as I swapped out the batteries for branded ones (Duracell) the candles worked as expected! Hope that helps! *** Of the 10 candles in the pack I only used 5. Of the five, only one has not changed. Some don't turn off when they should, on a timer. Others do not turn on the timer. If they don't turn on, the remote won't even turn them on. I need to unscrew an LED lightbulb with a circuit board, which leads me to believe that I'm resetting the candle's internal software. They have been used for less than a week. I think you get what you pay for.
