Seems like a decent starting point

This is a kit linked from a YouTube video; He used it and made a wallet. I added it to my wish list and waited for the price to drop to a level I couldn't refuse. I played with this set for a bit before making my first real item. ADVANTAGES: It has many tools; It's almost a complete starter kit. Nicely packaged and enough to complete a small project if you're buying a piece of pre-dyed leather. The punches appear to be quite sharp and come with latches and punches. CONS: Small work surfaces. The hammer is probably a little light for my liking and it took a few hits to get past 5-6 oz. a vegan tan I've worked with. The rivets are small, too small for 2 layers, the same 5-6 oz. I used leather and had to cut off an edge. This set did not include a chamfering tool. Chisels need a good polish because they were pretty hard to get out of the leather after they were punched. In general I was satisfied with my purchase. There are tools I would like to update, but this suits my needs. I don't think this is the best quality of tools, but I think it makes up for it with the variety of tools you get. The piece of embossed "leather" included in the kit is completely unusable. Again, for the price you pay you are paying for variety not quality, the tools are serviceable but not excellent. If I had to do it again I would buy this set as a gift for anyone who has thought of taking up leathercrafting as a hobby.

Pros
  • Stamping and stamping
Cons
  • Doubtful

Ok for a young beginner but tools are not good quality.
