Update November 16, 2020 Samsung finally contacted me and I received a call from a member of their engineering team working on these projectors. Obviously knowledgeable. We're working on the underlying issue and a fix if possible. Some improvement is visible, but still not "perfect". However, the LSP7T is much better than the Optoma P1 or P2 and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to any other sub-4k UST on the market. Find a Samsung technical representative who deals with these projectors. Spoke to 10+ sales reps, translated each time, and no one said they knew anything about these UST projectors. The constant running around, and there is NO WAY to contact anyone other than overseas to read the script. Initial review: I received the projector on October 24th. The experience has been pretty good so far, but there are a couple of issues I have with the projector that Samsung needs to address before I can give this thing 5 stars for the money. First the good: 1. Bright picture with good colors for a projector. I can compare it to the Optoma P1 and P2 and say it has better picture quality, not by much but enough to give it an edge.2. The software platform is solid, as you would expect from Samsung. Again, compared to Optoma, this is the difference between day and night.3. Connection/HDMI stability is also very stable with no issues across sources. In my setup, I'm using a Denon AVC8500H connected to the CAAVO Control Center (and also to the Caavo remote), testing multiple sources at 4k 60Hz and lower resolutions: Xbox One X, Nvidia Shield Pro, Fire TV Stick 4k and Cube. Nintendo Switch and PC W10 with Geforce 2080ti at 4K 60Hz. All ran without incident. Great!4. Used with Elite Screens CLR (not 2 or 3, just CLR). Great combo. Daytime (diffily lit room) and night (nighttime clearly looked amazing) looked great. There is no fan noise. Completely silent.6. The projector is turned on and off by CEC control.7. The start time is given in seconds (I didn't recognize it directly, but I would put about 10 seconds). IMHO very good. Cons: 1. Focus on the corners and edges from the center up. It is enough to distract from the content with text, lines or other details where sharpness is important. I am working on contacting Samsung regarding the issue.2. Some fragmentation of shadows in live content, especially in scenes that are typically poorly lit. Not "bad" but as with enough focus to distract. Maybe because of the calibration, but I think it's the nature of the projector. It's not enough for me not to love the projector, I just wish it was better. In general I like the projector more and more the more I use it, especially compared to the Optoma units I had before (P1 and P2). However, the focus issue needs to be addressed and imo it shouldn't be present in a $3300 projector. I will update the information once I get a response from Samsung. Eventually I will upgrade to the LSP9T at some point depending on what I get from Samsung on the subject of focus and how much better the blacks/shadows are on a more expensive device.
