I purchased this power cord to replace a genuine Dell power cord that did not work with my refurbished Dell computer that I purchased. This power cord was recommended by an Amazon rep who I called when I found the original didn't work. I've had this cable for a year now with no problems. The only personal issues I don't like about the cable is that it comes in two pieces (more to lose or forget) and it doesn't have a power indicator to let you know it's working properly. However, this has nothing to do with the hardware, it's just a personal preference. I would still recommend this power cord as a replacement for a Dell computer.
