I first tried the gloved versions of silicone body scrubs. I didn't like the way they slipped out of my hand and it was awkward to switch hands. I love this one for its grip. Very easy and quick hand change. And the risk of dropping it and losing all the foam is very small. Doesn't foam or suds like traditional louffa. This is to be expected due to the material and design of tooth shaped silicone body scrubs. What makes them more hygienic is that they also don't lather like a louffa. With one dose of my shower gel I can wash my entire upper body before I need a refill. Not as effective as loofah, but more hygienic. I felt it wasn't soft against my skin, firm enough to feel like it was cleaning me but not too hard to feel like it was tearing my skin. If you are a hairy person, silicone body scrubs may not be for you as they can damage your body hair. I have very little body hair so I don't have this problem. Again, if you are very hairy, you probably don't need a loofah since your body hair will lather your soap for you.
