I have orthotics and have been told to wear well fitting shoes that support my flat arches and are slightly higher in the back than some of the shoes we buy. I started with Ascis and chose them because I know my orthotics will fit and support my feet. Most shoes from cheaper stores just don't fit me and I end up throwing them away. I love my Asics so much I wear them until they wear out.
