These containers are perfect for single portions of a variety of foods. They aren't "leak proof" but they're not expected to be, either. They're disposable, and they don't leak easily. I've dropped filled containers a few times, and the lids stay on. When I dropped one that had just come from the freezer, the lid cracked, but that was to be expected with the cold making the plastic brittle. These containers have been great for my purpose in taking food to a shut-in relative. I'm very pleased and so is the person who gets the food!
