I have a Whirlpool WMH78019HV. This lamp does not release the base and is not inserted into the socket through the lamp cover. You need to loosen more than 10 screws, lower the base, remove the socket from the base, and then install the light bulb. The first bulb burned out after a week of use. The second bulb stopped working after two days. The third pear was DOA. The fourth stopped working and, on top of that, began to melt. The last bulb seemed possessed - it randomly turned on and off before going out. I don't think the microwave base had to be removed that often, so I buried the last bulb where it couldn't mock and went back to halogen. Designed for use in the microwave. The light quality was good, the bulb dimmed as advertised and I was happy with my purchase. until the first lightbulb stopped working. Most importantly, these bulbs taught me not to cook in the dark. I give this product three stars. These bulbs gave me both literal and figurative illumination.
