This has a nice high waist reaching just above the belly button which is what I wanted. I have the small size with a waist of 28.5 and hips of 37. I'm sure a medium size would have worked but I was worried about sagging/stretching when wet. I haven't worn them in the water yet, but I might even wear them to a run if I don't like how they perform in the water. The length is a bit big so I pull my legs up a bit. I'm 5ft 3.5" and have short legs. The best: the gusset!
