Look. Before you read my review, look at the numbers. As of this writing, this item has 4.3 stars, although 34% of the reviews are below 5 stars. This is protective gear that MUST protect your eyes. Take negative reviews seriously. This helmet is cheap. And I don't mean "cheap". The plastic helmet itself is comparable in thickness to a Tupperware bowl, very thin. The headband does not hold the adjustment and shifts when the helmet is raised/lowered. Pivot points are poorly attached or held, making the helmet prone to falling off constantly. The above is to be expected when paying dollar store prices. If the auto-dimming screen worked as advertised, I'd overlook the fact that it looks, feels and smells like it was made from recycled motor oil bottles by third-world kids in a then-damp sweatshop. BUT. The screen doesn't work. goes out when the arc stops. Instead of turning itself off and providing visibility, the screen will flicker when welding is stopped. You have to look away from the contrast level of the light for it to stop flickering. Tried replacing the battery, the flickering didn't go away. Changed to the second block, same thing. The second helm also regularly doesn't darken when it hits the bow. Don't worry, don't buy this junk. You better look through the lollipop.
