luckily the delivery was quicker than stated! Color 5-88 ruby red on my dark brown hair. First I applied it to the entire hairline and roots and let it sit for 15 minutes, then to the remaining pre-colored strands. In fact, I was almost out of color, so I rubbed the residue in like a shampoo before leaving it on for 45 minutes. I also bought Igora Royal Developer 6%/20 Volume and mixed 2 ounces of it into the entire tube of paint. Used a brush to apply paint which was a huge mess. I'll try using a dye bottle next time as I've gotten used to it. In general I like this color. I've always dyed my hair in a box, but was unsuccessful in finding a color that would cover my new gray strands. Time will tell if they show through like dyes. To be continued.ETA. The shades of gray never came through, I must have exaggerated this red with the set time. I had to soften it up with a brown conditioner and then go down to a medium auburn shade of 4-88.
