I ordered this camera after experiencing disastrous results with an Olympus point and shoot camera (12 megapixels at fine settings to get a decent picture). Some people say that this camera's menus are confusing or inconvenient. I haven't really found it. After setting my preferences, I haven't had a single call to change them since. The images are very clear and sharp. I found the lens cap a little different at first, but I've gotten used to it now. I can't comment on how good or bad the battery life is as I haven't really put it through prolonged use or a long video session. I'm not really a photography enthusiast, but this camera exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and ease of use. He does everything I want and more. I only wish I had never spent my money on Olympus to begin with. The only downside to this camera is that you have to buy additional storage (but that's not unique to Sony; most camera manufacturers are the same). It has enough memory to take multiple shots. I already had compatible memory and when I installed it I was told I had enough space to take 10,000 3-megapixel pictures. I haven't determined yet how many battery charges this will require! Result; I cannot praise this camera enough. Most camera reviews in this class are mediocre at best, and obviously you get what you pay for; But for the layman who wants a camera that takes good pictures in a wide variety of situations, then this is probably a camera worth investigating further.
