Review on NEWCARE 4K@60Hz 4x1 HDMI Switch Audio Extractor: 🔀 Remote Control, ARC, HDCP 2.2, 3D, Xbox, Fire Stick, PS5 by Mike Betzing

My use case is as follows: I have a BenQ 4k projector with a Sonos 5.1 Playbar setup and my main video source is Nvidia Shield. Since the Playbar only supports TOSlink (fiber optic) for audio and is supposed to be DD 5.1, I always needed a switcher with HDMI in/out and TOSlink out (audio had to be pulled from an HDMI source and sent over TOSlink). The switch block must send the correct signal to the devices (handshake) to ensure that the device sending audio is sending 5.1 audio. I originally had an HD projector and a large, expensive switch. BenQ 4k, I had to replace a new switch because the old switch wasn't compatible with HDCP 4k junk. Luckily these things became more common over time and I was able to buy a switch from another company (TESmart Ultra HD). ) that worked for a couple of years. When it stopped working I decided to try this switch as it was a bit cheaper and I was wondering if it would last longer (the other switch was always on which may have contributed to the death of .for several years was"on"). I was distracted. So I bought his new switch because it was a bit cheaper and seemed to offer all the same features (maybe with the ARC feature as an add-on). When it arrived I found the build quality acceptable. I don't expect much. My problem was that no matter what I did. This switch would only skip the video from the shield during boot, then there would be a black screen. The audio never went through (scrolling the shield screen causes the audio to beep when it works. No beeps). I tried again and again and nothing happened. Reboot, race from 5.1 to 2.0 on TV. Press ARC. Using the remote to press the copy button (strange controls other than the box itself. Nothing worked at all. I ended up returning these to Revain and buying the same box I had before which died a few years later. This one new (old) box arrived today I plugged it in and it just works So in case Nvidia Shield is used to switch to Sonos Playbar and Projector Maybe keep looking Maybe I have a bad block but I can't make sense see in an exchange when another changes from another manufacturer has proven itself.
