I have lived in my apartment for five years and have never thought about wiping the privacy screen. It's an apartment in a wooded central Florida suburb on a lake with bald eagles and all. The trellis appears clogged with sand and mud. Precipitation is gradual, so you usually don't notice it. I do, but I live on the first floor: I have a faucet adapter to connect the hose, but you can also use a bucket of plain water + a spray bottle. Spray on the screen first, then wipe off starting from the top. Rinse the blue-grey velvet nozzle from time to time. Also flush the screen to see if you missed cleaning anywhere. Then just let it air dry. I didn't use soap and didn't use a lot of water. I want to take a picture beforehand.
