Believe it or not, this 3x Barlow produces a smaller image than my Orion 2x Shorty Barlow When both are used with 2 different eyepieces and 3x magnification it probably gives 1.5x magnification It has a really sharp image and that was my concern when I bought the Barlow on the cheap.I think I'll use it sometimes when I just need 1.5x magnification.
