I wanted my husband to have a "starter" kilt and found this. I'm a regular size and it struggles on the RIGHT of the navel so I'd probably go up a size if you need a little more room. He loves the creek and jokingly states that he feels strong, like he could raid a village. It is a soft but durable material and I will NOT machine wash it, I will dye clean or dry clean it until it dies. However, I will iron for more defined creases.
