Review on 🐱 K&H Pet Products Outdoor Multi-Kitty House Shelter with Heating Option by Mary Medema

Keeps cats warm and comfortable outdoors!

This is my fourth purchase of this kitty. Large enough for a large cat, it offers comfort on the coldest days. I've had one for about 4 years now and the heating pad still works great. Although intended for outdoor use, I keep it on a sheltered porch as I wouldn't advise exposing it directly to the elements. It's electric, so you're always at risk of electrocution. The heating pad doesn't cover the entire surface of the floor, but it does include an unheated area in case your cat doesn't need all that heat, which is good. The only downside is that I have never seen a heating pad cover sold separately as it wears out over time. The unheated part is one piece of foam but sewn into the flooring, and one piece for the entire floor area including the heated part, so this should be an item that can be replaced. I often find my outdoor cats lying on the roof on warm days and it is strong enough to support them. Older models had a zipped roof, but now it's only attached with Velcro, making it a little draftier. The cats don't seem to mind. I highly recommend this cat house and be aware that the price can range from $50 to $125 depending on the time of year. So buy them in summer at the lowest price. The heating pad is activated by the weight. So when there are no cats in the pillow, it will turn off, saving power but only consuming 20W during use.
