Review on ๐Ÿƒ Catan Settlers Card Tray Organizer by John Benjamin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for play but not perfect for storage

This block features two identical three slot trays that can be linked together to form a set of two stacking trays or as a makeshift storage box to fit two sets cards in the compartment. A set of feet is also included but does not attach to the trays; assembly required. It should be noted that the compartments do not cover the entire length of the card, so parts of the cards are still visible. These trays are suitable for English (large format) cards with or without covers; Please note that the trays are included with the international Catan versions (with smaller format maps) and this accessory is therefore not required. As stated in the ad, one set covers the base game, while the other set generally suffices for cities. and expansion knights. Merchants & Barbarians typically require a third set, while Legend of the Sea Raiders requires a fourth set due to different card types. Trays are usually deep enough, but if you're using two trays as a box to hold six types of cards, remember that the Katana Event Card Deck (37 cards) and Legend of the Sea Raiders Spice Deck (30 cards) they represent are relatively large decks (compare 19 resource cards per game type for 3-4 players and 24 resource cards per game type for 5-6 players) and may not fit in another deck on the opposite foundation. While cards as a tray fit into unused helper cards from The Helpers of Catan, the tray set cannot accommodate helper cards due to its thickness when used as a storage box without taking up much space. What would be nice for a future redesign would be a slightly deeper compartment for unused accessory cards, a divider to separate the two compartments, and compartments that expand to cover the length of a card, as is common with compartments included with international Catan versions . (or Game of Thrones Catan, which use large sized maps but come with trays). Overall, the product is usable as a resource card tray, but has its drawbacks when used as a way to store your cards when not in use.
