My dog dropped all of his beds when we started buying these for him. I was a little worried about the quality of the bed because when we first got it (about three months ago) the fabric seemed very thin but it hasn't ruined it yet (and it chews) and doesn't . doesn't show excessive wear - it even looks clean after all this time and doesn't show dirt. The canopy does not stay upright by itself. So if your dog doesn't dig this can be a problem, but if you have a dog that likes to dig through ceilings to get comfortable this is a great option. We've also found that when you roll up a fleece blanket and tuck it in the corner of an opening, it stays a little more open so even dogs that don't dig in the ground can snuggle up to it. Photo suggests, but our small dog (she is about 19 inches long and 15 inches tall and weighs almost fifteen pounds) fits perfectly.
